Tomatis®️ Method
I am delighted to be able to present to you the Tomatis®️Listening Therapy. An educational technique which was once and still considered the cutting edge in the field of neuroplasticity and only available to the affluent, has now become digital and disseminated to your door, literally.
I read about Dr Alfred Tomatis®️, a French ENT specialist and his listening therapy, in a book by Dr Norman Doidge, ‘Brain’s Way of Healing’: Stories of Remarkable Recoveries and Discoveries, based on the neuroplasticity of the brain. I felt a connection with his story and was beguiled when I realised what can be achieved with Tomatis® listening therapy. How, by listening to music (music that has been through certain filters and changes in some frequencies), one can stimulate certain parts of the brain, alternating between two channels, and left and right ear, and repeating it enough times, fresh sets of neuropaths spark and get closer to a desired end.
At the time of reading the book in 2021, I looked on line for Tomatis® and found a couple of centres in London but, really, only the solvent needed look into this therapy. Coincidently, my friend’s sister, treated her autistic son and her entire family to the listening program seventeen years ago, honing their brains.
Below is the communication I had with my friend’s sister, also I looked up some parent’s forums to see what mums are saying on learning difficulties and Tomatis®, they weren’t many but what there was, they were all favourable; and general research into this therapy. I wanted to do the course and the therapy myself and believed that I could benefit from it. Also, wanted to offer it to my students as an educational aid for learning difficulties.
Dear xxxxx
Julia tells me you’ve used Tomatis® therapy and I hope you forgive me for troubling you with questions - downside of being informative.
I recently came across Tomatis®️ sound therapy in a book by Norman Doidge on 'Brain’s Way of Healing’. I’ve become very interested because I’m partially dyslexic and also because of my chronic fatigue. Also I thought it could be something I could use in my teaching Maths for students with learning difficulty.
Did it work for you or any of your family?
Many many thanks and warm regards
Roshi X
Dear Roshi
Lovely to hear from you
Yes we all did it
It particularly helped Toby at the time. He never used to speak to anyone as he didn't earlly hear them but afterwards that all changed
I suddenly was able to catch a ball!
Here’s the website…
And today, having used the listening therapy myself I can share with you some of my own findings - my listening has improved, my executive functioning is much better, I seem to be getting more done, rather effortlessly, mentally I mean (less procrastinations), also had a positive impact on my physical ability, in sports, I could feel my movements are more engaged and complete. And of course, I still have some way to go with my journey.
I hope I have interested you enough to look into this. For further information please contact me and also refer to tomatis.com.
